STARTING ON SUNDAY OCTOBER 4, 2020, CELC WILL BEGIN ONE WORSHIP SERVICE STARTING AT 9:15AM, FOLLOWED BY SUNDAY SCHOOL.

COVID-19 UPDATES:
*04/15/2021 – Christ is risen!  He is risen indeed!  

According to current information regarding the phased reopening of services in Indiana, we will be allowed to stay open for church during services.  

This is the information that pertains to you as a member of Christ Lutheran: 

1. Those of you who are 65 and older have been encouraged to remain sheltering in place.
Please join us in online worship.  We also encourage others who feel more comfortable waiting to return to join us in online worship as well.  

2. Please wear a mask to cover your mouth and nose at the service.  This has been encouraged by the Indiana guidelines for the phased reopening.  

3. In worship, those in the same family may sit together.  Those of separate family units should sit at least six feet away from each other.  

4. If you have been experiencing any illness, we encourage you to stay at home.   

5.  For those who wish to commune, I will explain communion details on Sunday.

We are trying to follow the guidelines set out for us; if there is anything being overlooked here, please let me know.  

We look forward to seeing all of you return soon.

BULLETIN ANNOUCEMENTS FOR THE WEEK OF APRIL 11th, 2021


PROJECT HOMELESS FUNDRAISER:  Project homeless is hosting a Chili Super at Christ Lutheran on Saturday April 17th from 4:30pm until 6:00pm.  They are providing some of the Chili and the paper products.  Please sign up to bring some additional pots of chili and be on hand to help out.  We are currently planning to hold this as a drive thru event.  

WOMEN’S DAY EVENT: Join us for our 2021 Women’s Day event on Saturday May 1st to learn how to “Fight Fear the Courageous Way.” We have experienced a unique year in the pandemic. Fear has swept through our country. What does God say about fear? Is it possible to face fear courageously? We believe it is! Tamara Perry will be sharing how, as the speaker of this year’s event. We will also have special music, delightful snacks and planned activities (sensitive to COVID). This event will be held outside, weather permitting. (If we move inside, masks will be required.) We hope that fear will not keep anyone from participating in our largest even for women this year. It is a great time to invite those who need to hear a message of hope. Be planning who you can bring!

SPRING PANCAKE BREAKFAST: is scheduled for May 15, 2021. More details to follow. Bob Crockett & Chuck Miller are heading this event.

5th ANNUAL CELC CAR SHOW: Tentatively scheduled for Saturday July 10, 2021. Please start telling your friends & family.

2021 ALTAR GUILD SCHEDULE IS POSTED – PLEASE CONSIDER VOLUNTEERING FOR THIS IMPORTANT SERVICE TO OUR CONGREGATION.

RETIREMENT – After many years of service, Renae Clark is going to be retiring her position as Church Secretary. She has done an excellent job but she has decided that this is the best decision for her and her family. She has graciously agreed to give us plenty of notice and is planning to keep working until June. We would like to post this position to the church first. If there are any members or family of members that are interested in discussing this opportunity with the church, we would encourage them to contact Kirk Knobel at 317-775-4438 or kmknobel@gmail.com. -Thank you Renae for the stellar service, you will be missed in this position.-

OUTREACH NEWS

First Timothy Lutheran Church: Items needed at the moment:  Cleaning supplies, wipes, Lysol, hand sanitizers, sugar (no flour), canned fruit, cereals,  personal hygiene items, soups, soap, toothpaste, paper towels, and tissues. They have an over abundance of the  following items and are not in need of them at this time: Jelly, peanut butter, mac & cheese, pasta, beans and corn.

Meets on the 1st, 3rd & 5th Wednesdays of the month.  Please join us and bring a friend!

Bible Study at 6:30 pm. We meet at church every second Monday of each month so feel free to join us!

Our inventory project has hit a stumbling point, so we will have set dates to meet during the summer to move on with this major project. Watch for more details to come.

As you have noticed, we have a large number of people on the prayer list, especially those with health issues.  Please take a look at the list and provide an update to Pastor if their status had changed.  Thank You!
